I'm going to call Stacey on Tuesday and ask him personally but I was wondering if anyone had any opinions on how the Cecil Phillips fits vs the Contender? Horse wise anyway.

Have had both - they both fit very well. Just let Stacey fit your horse. Have Stacey show you how the Contender is made - the way the rigging is on it.

Yes I've ridden the contender and had it on this horse in the 6.5" gullet, but he's 5 and not done growing so I'm thinking the 6.5" will be too snug in short order based on how it fits right now. I found a CP with the 6 3/4" that I might try from a gal and will probably work as well. I can get a good deal on it and if he outgrows it get my money back out of it - but if the tree was a completely different shape I wasn't going to waste the gals time.
