| I have a daughter of hes a peptospoonful, she can sure scoot, I loved riding her, shes mybbroodmare now, her first foal is 100% cutting breed but WOW can she fly when she plays I have high hopes for her, and breed back to a dash ta fame son. Time will tell but Im sure I picked right lol.
I should mention though, im sure my mares stride came from her dam, who's a daughter of freckles playboy with some miss n cash in there. But I've seen lots of spoonfuls that can sure scoot.
Playgun is really proven as a barrel sire to. Theres not many left, but freckles playboy sons tend to have run and a nice stride to them. |

I agree...we've had 2 or 3 and all of them have alot more speed than you'd think a cowbred horse would have. |

I have spent the summer doing ranch rodeos and rode a couple Cat Ichi daughters my friends have and I NEED ONE! I want to put one on barrels in the worst way!
I also rode a Peptospoonful (sp?) daughter and did not like her as much as the Cat Ichi's. Part of it could be just how she was handled before but the one I rode and the ones I have seen have a more upright neck and a little hotter/too overreactive IMO. I liked that she was feely and responsive but they seem a little like they want to outthink you and do it their way. |

Location: Oklahoma | I have had two Highbrow Cats that were scooting fast lil beasts! One was a filly out of an own daughter of Dual Pep and the other was out of a Doc Hickory/Dash for Cash mare. The second one mentioned was just three year old when I sold her recently but already going through the pattern at 3/4 speed easily with little help. I hope the gal who bought her enters her in some futurities. I would take a couple more just like them in a heart beat!!! |

Location: TX | I will also second the Boonlight Dancer/Boonlit comments. I have a daughter by Boonlight Dancer out of a Smart Little Lena mare that was started in the cutting pen and will eat up a cow, but I wish I had bought her in time to send her to some barrel futurities, I am still going to put her on the pattern and it should be super easy for her. I would have another in a heart beat! Boonlight Dancer has proven to be a very versatile sire with money earners in reining, reined cow horse, cutting, and a few in the roping and barrels too. Love them. |

We have a full sister to one of the mare's that Summer was running. Our little mare Hotbox has made such a nice horse. She had just gotten a little tune up by Susan Clapp in an exhibition prior to this run, so when Pj asked her to move over a little going to the first, she DID! lol Anyway, they were 3rd in the 1D with over 100 entries Friday night. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4LVL_zyP5WM
She had less then 60 days and only 5 days seeing a barrel before the video was taken. I've ridden a few by the the SR Instant Choice son, Instant King, and all have been very athletic and quiet, level headed! SR Instant Choice is a Docs Hickory son. I have a grandson of Docs Hickory that has made an AWESOME barrel and all around horse.
Guess you could say I like Docs Hickory. ;) (Who is Highbrow Cats grandsire)

I've ridden one of his 2012 sons. FANTASTIC colt, great mind, nice conformation, and a ton of natural athleticism. I second Boonlit.
I also know a Paddys Irish Whiskey daughter who is pretty swell. |
