Do any of you know of a way to safely clean a hair-on cowhide rug with dog urine on it?

I have thrown mine over the fence (in the shade) and washed lightly with horse shampoo. Rinse it well and let it dry naturally.

eta: Don't scrub against the lay of the hair (too much) and brush it back flat before drying.

We read that you could use baking soda and vinegar. I diluted the vinegar though.

A couple of suggestions......Murphy's Oil Soap and/or that pet urine eliminator that TSC sells. White bottle with red print.
