I'm going to try to surprise my husband with tickets to one of these events for a Christmas present.

Which one would you want to attend? Have you attended?

He has always wanted to go and watch the TEC in Guthrie and has mentioned it several times but I know The American is exciting too!

Thoughts?

We have been to the TEC, it was awesome to experience but there is a lot of down time bewtween each go and I didn't see much for vendors.  I do think it is something that someone should experience at least once.

Haven't been to the American yet but hoping to go in 2016.

Guess it would depend on what he likes to watch more of
I took my Dad for several years and enjoyed it every time. It was very entertaining, but we always went on the last day to the finals.

Timed Event! :-). I'm a roper so I love to watch these guys compete in all the events - they are true hands. There will be Some vendors but OKC has great western shopping (Stockyards District and on Reno just west of the fairgrounds). It's not super crowded, which is nice. Remington Park opening weekend for Quarter Horses is the same weekend as the TEC, so you can go to the horse races too.
