With God all things are possible

| These days, doesn't everything seem unstable? The economy, the international political climate, gas prices, jobs. Even the earth itself is rocking with earthquakes, tornadoes, etc. we read in the Psalms about God is our rock, but how can we feel secure when everything around is us is crumbling?
Psalm16:8-9 I keep my eyes always on the Lord. With Him at my right hand, I will not be shaken. therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices, my body also will rest secure.
I think the answer comes from the disciple Peter and the psalmist David. In Matthew 14, Peter gets out of the boat and walks on the water towards Jesus. Peter did fine I til he took his eyes off Jesus and saw stormy winds, and then he became afraid and started to sink.
If we deliberately channel all our energy into keeping our focus only on Jesus, and not on the upheaval around us, then we won't be afraid. We'll be stable. We'll be at rest.
When we look at other things and don't focus on Jesus, His will focus, His power, His sovereignty , then suddenly we'll be as unstable as everything else.
In psalm, David keeps his eyes on God, and then he isn't shaken by the things around him. He had enemies on every side, enemies within his palace, and his own sin to contend with, but he TRUSTED in God to help him and save him. That focus on God brought him unshakable rest.
Today, take time to ignore everything around you and focus on Jesus. Keep your eyes on Him and rest secure with peace.
For it is WITH God all things are possible
Have a very Blessed secure day knowing Your Savior has your back AMEN
