| I just have to share... :)
Long story short I got a 2D barrel horse march 2014 and worked all of that year with him, and it took until late fall to get nice consistent runs, and we were actually clocking fast. Winter came, I worked him all spring, got him in tip top shape by March and a week before comp he got injured. Needed 6 months off for his tendon injury, and August we started getting back in shape extremely slowly. By September we started hardcore conditioning, and got the green light to run. So today was our first big comeback, and boy was I surprised. We had an amazing run and clocked top of the youth 1D, at an nbha. Fastest time of the day was a 16.6 and I ran a 17.00, with some prca girls and very tough competition. So right now I'm smiling and am so proud of how my boy stayed sane, and still has the heart to give it his all. He made the healing process easy and was the vet school's dream patient. He never got sedated for ultrasounds, probing, treatments or anything when they normally would. Today he walked right in, gave it his all, and walked right back out. :)
