I'm having a little trouble cleaning my horses sheath. Can someone please explain in detail how to best accomplish this task?

I honestly don't know. It takes bull elephant sedatives to get my gelding even slightly cooperative, and then you have to go digging for it! He likes to take it out for the ladies, but its almost non-existent when it comes to cleaning time.

My geldings are easy. So long as they will let you touch back there it shouldn't be a problem. It's a lot like a man, lol. Its actually easier to use really clean hands in my experience. I do mine after a bath. Wash your hands really good (get rid of nasty fingernails etc), grab some excalibur, and well . . . stroke at the back part of the sheath. They should begin to drop. If not you can clean up just inside the sheath for a minute and usually this relaxes them (so long as you are gentle) and they will drop. Then clean off the crusties on the actual penis. When you get down to the end, right around behind the hole and under the cap there is a sort of 'pocket'. You have to stick your finger in the hole and sort of swipe left and then right and get out the beans. Tadum you are done.

ETA: I don't use ace. My geldings just . . . like me.

Duncan gets 3cc Ace. Then I use gloves. My vets in CA used mineral oil to help get the bean out... so that is how I've done it. I clean every 6 months.
