| I injured myself at work taking a heavy compressor up an extension ladder to the roof. It weighed around 120Lbs. Anyway I go to Dr she gives me steroids and pain pills. Legs still hurt and lower back will catch and I can't walk. Finally send me for MRI I have 4 protruding disc and a tear in lumbar muscle. They send me to a workers comp neurosurgeon yesterday. He says don't worry about MRI it's fine just do 3 weeks physical therapy and you will be fine. Anyone else ever had back problems ? |

Do you have a case nurse? You should. If not, request one and tell her your concerns. I would do what the Dr requested at this time. At the end of the PT if not better, request another Dr and a second opinion.
Are you on light duty? Restricted duty? At home?

| They did give me a case nurse I met her at nuro yesterday for the 1st time. Yes I'm at home, the work I do there is no light duty. The dr asked me how long have I done this type work. Told him it's all I've ever done. Commercial HVAC |

The type of injury you have is a rest and wait and see injury. I would do what they say for PT and rest. Yes, it is hard to do and do nothing else. Then, go back for your followup. If you are not pleased at that time with their followup plan and treatment options, get a second opinion and ask to see another Dr. |

Location: OH. IO | Take mri results to PT appt. They may not even do PT at this time. I was sent to pt and found out I had fractured my vertabra in back and neck.I would be skeptical of PT with a tear of lumbar and protruding disks. |

You can ask for a copy but if he works for WC I bet you won't get one. I don't like the look of the road they are taking you down. It's time to look for a fork to the left. |

I have to agree with Komet. Hubby messed up his hip falling off a loader and had to have a hip replacement. You should be able to get your own Dr and Workers Comp will provide you with a lawyer also. It took a year to settle, but even though hubby had a prexisting condition with arthritis in the hip there is precedent that the fall he took off the loader exaberated the injury (made it worse) and he won his settlement. My advice would be get your own Dr. and have workers comp assign you a attorney and document everything!

Yes you can ask for and should receive copies of anything you want. They actually should send copies to the pt appt. call the nurse or your case worker in the am and tell her you want them. What state are you in |

| Not meaning to sound dumb but do I really need an attorney? They did assign a nurse to me for some reason and she was taking notes of what the worker comp dr said |
