| How are your 3 yo coming along that aren't going to be entered in a futurity? I'm just loping circles right now. Haven't even seen a barrel yet. |

Location: LaBelle, Florida | My 3 year old is broke but has been sitting all summer due to heat and humidity and now my pasture is under water. I'm in SW Fl so waiting for the rain to start slacking up before I start riding again. Mine hasn't seen a barrel either, however she has been ridden enough that she has the basics down pretty well. |

| Ours had a week of light gymkhana practice this past summer just so when we took him to one small playday the following weeked to let him see the sights, he wasn't ultimately confused. He took up speed and action like a pig to mud. He ended up 3rd in the class behind two horses who had been doing it for years. He was so proud of himself (did a little sliding stop and everything).
Now he is just getting a more solid arena foundation put on him (more yielding/flexing, rollbacks, etc.) He won't be put on the barrel pattern for real until next summer, although he really didn't do bad at all for the amount we worked him on it. haha he's very naturally athletic, so it came easy to him. |

Location: Texas | Mine was with the trainer 3 months, came home in December 100 pounds underweight from getting sick there, and probably full of ulcers.
After a month of treatment for the ulcers and trying to get her weight up, she got cut up in the fence. She is now ready to go, but after so many months off, I'm going to send her out again for 30 days and go from there. |

Location: London Ontario | I just picked mine up from the track. She is a little lean for my liking, I am still waiting for her to settle in, I have had a hand full of ride on her in a stock saddle. I am giving her time off till beg of October them I will start her again. I hope to have her hauling to the winter jackpots for some exposure. She is my first futurity horse, I may end up running her this year depending on how she is doing, if not I am okay with holding off. We don't have the big futurities like down south does so I am in no rush! |

| HA! I just bought a youngin (3yo) a few weeks ago. She is....halter broke and picking up her feet XD hurray project horse! She was hardly halter broke when I brought her home. Big sucker too, like 15.2 and thick. Fuel Charger X FWF bred. Momma, daughter of FWF is 16.2 and daddy, son of Fuel Charger is 15.2 so we shall see where she ends up. Youngest horse I've seen in a while with the Ole Man on her papers. Very excited about her. |

Location: Wyoming | I just picked mine up from the trainer a few weeks ago, he put 45 days on her and she is coming along nicely. She has a good stop, picks up her leads, soft in her face and has a great mind. I'm going to start her on the barrels in January but I'm going to take my time with her, she's 16 hands and very gangly... She needs time to mature physically |

I have a dumb question, I know VERY little about futurities. Do you mean you are going to the BFA in December and your horses are just now getting broke? I don't mean that in a bad way at all. I think it would be cool to find a happy medium between starting to early to get them where they need to be but early enough to be competitive. I would like to one day be able to go to one. I think I'll come watch this year :) |

Mine is in the video above. My trainer said that we were probably messing up by not entering the juvenile. I did check on BFA JUVENILE entries and there is a $50 late fee for each entry if the first payment is not mailed by Sept 1. Mine was broke a year and half ago. I might add that i expect a lot out of my horses, but to be ready for a futurity in 90 days is a little unrealistic for my horses.

I have friends that seem to find a lot of futurities in Canada or at least they keep posting on facebook how well they are doing. I wish them well but I hope they stay up there because I don't want to have to compete against them. Laughing |

She can do quite a bit bridleless too. Of course Liana has trained her. Had her 90 days as a 2 year old and 90 days this year. If they spend any time at all at Liana's you can pretty much take the good foundation as a given. She'll go back this next year for more speed training with Liana. Slated for 5 year old futurities. |

The Juvi at PKC in December of their 3 yr old year starts their Futurity year (unless you go to Unadilla) They run from December of their 3 yr old year until December of their 4 year old year, if you're going to futurity them as a 4 yr old. If you wait and debut the 4 year olds at OKC in the Futurity (making them a 5 yr old Futurity prospect) you'll be running them against horses who have been running for a full year. RockinAS has done well doing so and Jordon Briggs has done it quite well, but you really are at a large disadvantage |

I mean they don't race race until usually February-March of their 4yo year around here, usually because they come off the track as late 3yos for the most part. We are up northeast with not a lot of futurities though. We only have 2 bigish futurities and they are in June and October. (I'm not big in the futurity/juvenile aspect, obviously. haha, I just have friends who are and I like to watch their colts progress) |

WHOA!! ..
I think you named this buckskin filly with the right name .. KISSYOURMONEYGOODBYE ...
"MIA" is sure showing her breeding with the natural flying lead changes,
smooth rating, working the barrels with her feet under her, and the work
attitude to follow the focused cues of her trainer!!
So, don't feel guilty of having the solid genes, mentality and conformation
of 5 NFR/PRO RODEO barrel bloodlines with a whisper of speed from
Leaving Memories all wrapped up in one filly. It is like taking a gun
to a knife fight or having a stacked deck in a crooked card game ...
winner takes all is the name of the game!!... lol
Keep doing what you and trainer are doing ... just cruise along and
fillies instincts will tighten up her turns and add speed as she gets
familiar with different dirt, arena noise // scenery and confidence
in her trainer continues to grow.
I think this filly is going to make you and trainer Shelly proud
and famous!!

I might add that i expect a lot out of my horses, but to be ready for a futurity in 90 days is a little unrealistic for my horses. This is a trap. It's how he rolls. I wouldn't waste my breath. I could tell he didn't seem too knowledgeable. could you tell that? That is a complete sentence. Can't your read? Let me put it in my 5th grade level sentence structure. It is very easy to tell that Arion is not very knowledgeable about futurities. Is that better?
Come on now. Also, you may be surprised.
Yes, I know that should be the contraction of you are. but I can't type worth a hoot. You should see my chemistry tests. All those subscripts and superscripts are a pain and sometimes my kids are challenged when the read them. Keeps 'em on their toes.
Looks more like a typo. 'You're' would not be the correct word in that sentence.

Location: California | I was in no real rush with my 3yr old but since my mare can no longer race, he has now been promoted to my main mount. Still won't rush with him but he will be brought along faster then I had planned. I'll start hauling him to races just to ride him around and get in the different arenas. Just started trotting barrels on him. |

 Best of the Badlands
Location: You never know where I will show up...... | Mine are doing awesome. They are fat, eating grass in the pasture with the best of them. I'll bring them in from the pasture in about a month and go to riding them again this fall. Get them started on barrels this winter and be exhibitioning them by late winter/early spring. I won't run either of my mares in futurities until they are 5. I figure no sense in rushing anything on either of them, they're both pretty nice. Most of the futurities up here are for 5 & unders anyway. |

Body is broke loose and now I'm working on collection and getting him to hold his circles on his on own. He's coming inside this week and starting on the pattern!

 Can You Hear Me Now?
Location: When you hit the middle of nowhere .. Keep driving | I am in no rush with mine. She was broke out in July and now just getting lots of wet saddle blankets. We went on her first overnight camping trip a few weeks ago and I am just exposing her to the stuff. She's been swimming, climbed up the side of a mountain, and spent hours alone and on group trail rides. She won't start seeing a pattern until next spring.
