Location: NeverLand | I am getting married December 4 and for our honey moon we are going to go to las Vegas for the NFR! I need options on the best hotels that are clean but on a budget:) and other then the rodeo what your favorite things to do down there and best places to eat! Or anything else that would be good to know |

TripAdvisor is really great for narrowing hotels down to your budget and be sure and look at the pictures. It will give you a realistic idea of what the room will look like.
Sign up for the hotel promotion e-mails... I constantly get offers for bookings at lower rates or free buffets/shows included in with the room rate. Mention that you are on your honeymoon and I bet you get some neat upgrades/perks!
I didn't have a bad meal when I was in Vegas...there are plenty of options for all budgets. I ate the the California Pizza Kitchen (The Mirage, I like their frozen aisle pizzas so wanted to eat the real deal), Hecho (MGM Grand), Canonita (Venetian) and some others that I can't remember. Loved them all, but will be hitting up In N Out Burger and Shake Shack this year for some more budget friendly options since I'll be there longer.
We were there for three nights last year and went to the rodeo for two. The other night we just spent walking the strip and it will keep you busy if you've never been to see it. It's a lot to take in. Bellagio fountations and Mirage volcano are free.

| My favorite place to visit was Fremont St (old dt vegas). We ate at the restaurant on top of the Rio but it was expensive. There is also a nightclub on the roof and if you eat dinner, the cover charge is waived. |

Location: Texas | Treasure Island is nice and fairly reasonable. We have stayed at Bally's too and it was clean, affordable, and centrally located on the strip, it's conneccted to Paris with good restaruants. Also off the strip, Silverton is really reasonably. I was looking up hotels for my parents and MGM actually had really good rates during the NFR so you might check there. We stay at South Point but it isn't super cheap! :( We definitely love Cirque de Solei shows, we enjoyed David Copperfield also. We always go down to Freemont and people watch and see the light show deal. We also went on the Linq this past year and it was super neat, definitely worth doing once and you will have a great view of Vegas while on it. Some of my favorite restaurants are Cheesecake Factory in the Forum Shops at Caesar's Palace, Samba at Mirage, there's a good Mexican food restaurant in New York New York. Sidewalk Cafe in Bally's used to be good, haven't had it in awhile. i love Coronado Cafe at South Point, and there's a Japanese Steakhouse and Sushi in the Forum Shops that's good too. If you aren't going to the rodeo and want to watch, at South Point they have the Ram room with big screens, drinks, and food. It's the best seat for the rodeo besides being there.

I don't think I have eaten anywhere bad down there either. If they are bad they will get moved out real fast for something that is good.

Location: North Dakota | I've been to the NFR once-last year-it was great, BUT if I were to go again and wanted to concentrate on rodeo/horse stuff, I would definitely stay at South Point-there's a trade show, team roping-inside, rodeo viewing with snacks, shuttles to and from the rodeo, the buckle award ceremony is there-drinks aren't too high priced. (everyone should see the buckle award ceremony-truly a fun time)
We stayed at the MGM-the price was nice for the rooms but everything else is CRAZY expensive-$11 for a drink- we like cocktails and quickly found out that the convenience stores sell pretty much whatever you want at a lot cheaper price. MGM has several of the contestants signing autographs every day and there's a trade show within walking distance. The viewing party is nice but you stand in line for hours to get a ticket so you can go back=wasted a lot of time there. The after rodeo party is fun to attend-they have live music every night.
We made a trip up the strip just to look at the casino's-it should be something everyone does at least once. Very fun place, but honestly-going during the rodeo is too much pressure-you're busy all the time and I know we missed out on a lot of what Vegas is all about so if we go again it will probably be sometime when the NFR isn't there. Have fun!

Location: Pilot Point, TX | When I go out there for work I stay at Mandalay Bay. If you go to Cowboyville.com, you can get a special rate there. They have one of the trade shows in the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, so that's nice. It's a really clean hotel with a great location at one end of the strip.
Have also stayed at the South Point (which is great, but EXTREMELY hard to get a room because of the ropers), and the MGM. MGM is awesome, too, but gets pretty pricey - especially because there is a fight the last weekend of the rodeo.
Honestly though, you can stay anywhere and get to wherever you want by a quick cab ride.

| We went several years in a row when my best friend was given tickets by a stock contractor who was her client - however, we were fresh out of college and super broke!
So - stay a block off the strip, usually much cheaper. You can walk to the T&M and the strip too!
I agree that if you can land a room at the South Point - do it. They shuttle ya to the T&M, the buckle ceremonies are a once in a lifetime kinda deal, and the FREE live music is amazing ... We saw Miranda Lambert one year, but expect more along the lines of Casey Donahew (red dirt types). The team roping and Benny B's Bucking sale were highlights that we loved - and they highlight much of the up and coming talent! The trade show there is ok but honestly, the trade shows at the civic/convention center and the MGM are much better.
The first year, we ended up taking taxi's down to south point from the strip - it got expensive quick!
We saved money by hitting grocery stores and eating sandwhiches for lunch. Then we went out to dinner. Other's have already listed my favorite restaurants above. |

| I just booked rooms at Mandalay thru cowboyville.com and we got them for $79. Super nice rooms and the tade show there is amazing |

We literally left the thomas and mack on the south point shuttle walked into the lounge-can't remember the name of it - it was marked well and had a great place to watch the buckle ceremony. They give the contestants and stock contractors plenty of time to get to the south point after the rodeo. |

| We stay at the MGM signature. They are beautiful condo type rooms. I think for a suite it was like $120. Very close to the NFR and there is a lot going on at the hotel after the rodeo. |
