| Yes, even grade horses can be registered if they have the color. I see no value in it. |

Location: In The Snow, AZ | So, is there any way to know if a horses age is even accurate if registered thru it? I'm looking at a finished horse. But that's his only registration and that concerns me. I've gotten burned on grade horses before because of inaccuracies in age. |

Location: Here | There is value in it. For example, A very nice horse out of App mare and by a quarter horse stallion. Produces a palomino with no spots. This allows for a very nice colt to show his genetic make up. |

| To be registered in the Palomino Horse Breeders' Association, the horse must be registered in a breed registry. This is a color registry. Their mission statement evens states that they want to preserve the integrity of each breed. The have about 12 breeds listed that they are affiliated with. Last year Cheyenne Raney won Res Champion in barrels on a horse trained by Lance Graves. Before that, Jana Beam won barrels on a Chasin Firewater offspring and a son of Frenchmans Boogie won with Lance Graves riding. I would say that if you plan on competing, you better have a Professional trainer riding for you. There may be some other registry that will let your register anything but not this one. |

The horse should have some other registration papers. I had to send in a copy of my AQHA papers. Course that could be one of about 12 breeds. You might contact them to see if they have a copy of another reg. certificate on file.

| There is a list of registries that they accept. AQHA, APHA, ApHC, AMERICAN SADDLE HORSE, JC ETC. I had to send a copy of my filly's papers (AQHA) in order to register her. She is two and I registered her about a year ago. You do know that you cannot do much with a COPY of some horse's papers. Also, my filly is registered with the same name as her AQHA papers. If you know the horse's name from its Palomino papers you can check through AQHA. Again, a copy of AQHA papers is worthless. |

Ok this makes sense as research pointed me to two different registries. This horse is definitely only color registered. I promised hubby I wouldn't buy an unregistered horse because of age discrepancies. Poo. |
