| Does anyone know of any barrel horse positions or internships and what all I could expect from a position like this? I've worked for a couple facilites as a loper. Would it be the same or would I also be able to possibly run horses at jackpots? |

| The people that I know who might take an intern have outside horses that people are paying to be trained. I don't think that they would let you run at a jackpot. Joseys takes a lot of interns but you usually chase headstalls during the clinics there. |

Location: Oklahoma | I noticed Chelsea Kroes and Megan Marsh on facebook were both looking for someone to come to work for them....I could sure use someone and yes, I would let you run my horses if I thought you and they could handle it, but unfortunately, I don't have extra money to pay much. Could pay you commission when horses sell, but that would be about it. I live in SE OK. |

Location: SW MO | Diane would be great to intern for! Also Sharin Hall is a good one to look into. Pete Oen was looking for someone awhile back... Not sure about now though.

Location: East Texas | Get in touch with Chris Martin at CM Barrel Horses. He is my trainer and takes interns. You will learn a lot from him. I'm not sure if he has an open spot right now but he will. |

| I have worked on a couple cutting facilities and I'm currently working at a top cutting facility but I keep finding myself wanting to get back into barrels. I have basic veterinary skills and knowledge and can work colts and two year olds. Can also help with breeding and foaling. I'm a great hand at shows and a hard worker who gets the job done right the first time who will go the extra mile to make sure it's done right. I can send in my resume and references if needed and videos of me riding as well. I would be very interested in a barrel position or internship preferably live on site. Very motivated to find a barrel horse internship or position. Anyone who knows of anyone who may be looking would be greatly appreciated :)
Thank you |

| Here are 20 NFR PRO RODEO competitors that either have a helper/driver/jackofalltrades riding shotgun for them 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.. that sounds better than 24/7 .. lol .. or they have very dedicated family members that take care of everything from changing tires to financial support ..
Fallon Taylor probably has the best support group which leaves her free to make other appearances and seek out sponsors and pursue her future career as a rodeo commentator ...
2015 World Standings
1 Callie Duperier $155,125
2 Lisa Lockhart $151,527
3 Sarah Rose McDonald $123,160
4 Mary Walker $105,421
5 Sherry Cervi $102,854
6 Nancy Hunter $96,692
7 Fallon Taylor $86,828
8 Carley Richardson $76,976
9 Cassidy Kruse $72,647
10 Taylor Jacob $71,579
11 Michele McLeod $67,797
12 Jackie Ganter $61,232
13 Vickie Carter $59,691
14 Jill Welsh $59,444
15 Layna Kight $53,938
16 Meghan Johnson $53,780
17 Deb Guelly $52,688
18 Alexa Lake $50,344
19 Jana Bean $49,500
20 Carmel Wright $49,268
One of the most prominent breeding, sales prep, race/event training and cowboy event stallion stations is LAZY E RANCH which is now owned by RELIANCE RANCH ... they are about finished with a new race training track and barns to go with all the other facilities they have going .. as you can see this could be a year round job with a variety of things to choose from ....
I would ask for a job instead of internship at these type of places ..
Are you sure what internship means?? Very little pay, long hours, treated like a step child and possibly shared housing for a set period of time ... .. lol ..
How old are you and what is your experience at starting 2yo's?? ....
pm me ....

Location: Where I am happiest | I would definatelly contact Jud Little. Alot of girls who are now somebody got their big push up that ladder from Jud. Schiller ranch and Latricia Duke would be a dream come true to get to ride with her everyday! Busby Quarter Horses . After that, June Holeman would fit what your looking for. Pete Oen was indeed looking for someone a couple month's ago. It's like looking for an?y other job. Apply everywhere. Beat the street, talk to everyone. You will find a job. You just have to do the leg work.

Location: Buffalo, Wyoming | I know this isn't exactly what you are looking for but Ivy Conrado just posted this on Facebook:
Job opportunity at Conrado Barrel horses. Job includes feeding twice a day, cleaning 10 stalls, watering and maintenance of our place. We are gone a lot so preferably someone trust worthy and will do YOUR JOB ever day. I have done everything they would be doing myself and I am 5'3 and 120 lbs. Pay would be 1,500-2,000 depending on how hard you work. Message me for questions. We do have a room available and that would be free. No dogs, no horses, no drama. |

 The Crazy Mom

Location: Ainsworth, NE | We had an intern this summer and I think it was a great experience for both of us! She helped me with the breeding aspect: collecting stallions, preparing shipments, ultrasounding mares (well, she didn't do the actual ultrasounding), breeding, flushing embryos ect! Plus we rode multiple horses every day! And she is now back in college, but will be coming to Arizona for awhile with me this winter! I will have an intern again next spring/summer/fall! |
