When our mare was feeling good she would run 2d money here, but she would get sore in her ovaries and feet so we were never really consistent. Since then we shod her and got the feet balanced and her ovaries taken care of but she just isnt clocking like before and the only variable I can think of are the shoes. Basically when she was running sound before the shoes she would be a half second off and now sound with the shoes she is 1+ seconds off, she has never shown any potential at all with shoes.
Does anyone have a horse that cant run with shoes?

I have a horse that can't walk without shoes...bahaha sorry couldn't resist.
I doubt its the shoes themselves doing it. But you could always try changing the type of shoe. What is she wearing right now?

Actually sounds like a farrier issue. I have used rims all the way around for years. If you are using a different shoe it could possibly be the shoe but does sound like a farrier issue. The horse may need to get used to the shoes too. My trainer put shoes on my 3 year old in Sept to get ready to run in Jan.

Farrier is very good and respected as is our vet, Ive had a number of friends look at the feet and they all say he did a great job. That doesnt mean the shoes we are using are a good choice for our horse.
The first time we ran her with shoes she stumbled a little going into 1st, then stumbled horribly bad rating for 2nd and 3rd was ok, this was the first time this horse has ever stumbled at all. I just dont know...
