Barrel races daily from south end of state to the north and across the border. Rodeos all summer.long. Ogden and Spanish fork run winter series and south Jordan has some barrel event weekly. Last I knew 1/2 ton was $85 and up. If you stay out of the mountains you can obtain horse property with out braking your pocket book.

Races all year round just about every day of the week. We pay $190 a ton for premium alfalfa delivered. Farmer brings it in the hay wagon and just sets the cube in the hay barn. What part of Utah are you looking at? Utah is a very conservative state and has a great governor.

Ogden area gets plenty of snow of course your further north and the mountains gain a lot...you know the best snow on earth. Cold and slick ice. Some racers travel out of wyoming to Spanish fork races.very LOS or you don't fit.

Ogden has jackpots almost every week from March-October (sometimes they run in tremonton)
Spanish fork has a series, wasatch barrel racing. UBRA has races in the salt lake valley.
Utah has a lot to offer all over the state for races.

Okay...I am leaving southern CA now. $300+ per ton here. My husband and I have been looking into Utah or Texas (He's from there but most of our family is still in CA so Utah isn't really that far if we all met in Las Vegas or something.) Now all I have to do is find work. I work in a manufacturing plant where we make equine accessories and rodeo gear. I LOVE my job...that's really the only reason we're still here besides extended family.
