I just moved to central VA from Colorado and am needing some opinions about barrel racing in this area. I know there are NBHA races, looking for local jackpots around Charlottesville area as well. Any advice for good veterinarians, farriers, and chiros in the area?

I'm already missing all of the races in CO and how barrel racing friendly it was there. Any help is much appreciated!

There is a facebook group "Virginia Barrel Racing" which could be a resource.  Also "Virginia NBHA" on fb.

Virginia is about done with barrel racing for 2015 with only one more NBHA show at Appomattox on Nov 7th.  There may or may not be a winter series there (I haven't seen anything on a schedule yet).  I have heard about a buckle series up in Berryville starting this week.  I'm sure there are more small venues running, but I pretty much stick to NBHA so not sure of where or when.

Welcome to Virginia -- give it a chance, the weather is devine compared to CO!  I moved to this area (Nokesville, 2 hours north of Charlottesville) from CO also.  But the barrel racing family is great in VA, you just have to strike up a conversation with a few peeps and they'll take you right in.  The Charlottesville area is probably the most horse-dense area in the country.  Go to one or both of the FB groups and post your needs -- I'm sure you will get the info you need.
