You haven't "met" my new man yet... This is Oxnard... He is a 7yr old OTTB gelding by Cactus Ridge and out of an Ogygian mare. My FIL trained him as a 2yr old until he retired, and he eventually ended up in the hands of my FILs old exercise rider(who become a trainer). He only ever had 2 wins on the track but he was some what of a hard luck case, if some thing bad was going to happen, it happened to him. I got him a week ago Monday and he has calmed down TREMENDOUSLY! He has a head full of sense. We are hoping to put the first off track ride on him this weekend if everything goes well. Just going to take my time on him and get him going good and get a nice handle on him and hopefully point him towards barrels and poles. These are from his first day in the round pen at the barn I took him to. I decided to board him at a facility with 2 round pens, and indoor/outdoor arenas through the winter so I could get him going.

Gorgeous!!! He looks great. Put together nice too. Glad you're going to try him on speed events.
Hoping to get mine that round if we can figure out feed. He's by Dynaformer and won quite a bit on the track. Won't make a barrel horse though - he's 17.1. Training him as an eventing prospect. Looks like I'll be pulling those breeches back out.
