CC and my big mare are in pastures next to each other, this morning CC was covered in hives/welts and Poopie had a small one on her rib cage. You could tell then had rolled quite a bit either trying to itch or trying to get whatever got them off. CC shouldnt' have Dex because of her kidneys. I did put some Arnica Poultice on them, but how many Benedryl would you give an 1100lb horse?

I didn't know that they could have Benadryl! I knew my dog could...
Benadryl can cause hallucinations in horses to the point they may kill themselves.
I spoke to my vet years ago about this and he told me to never give it, as the hallucinations are hard to manage if they get them. He had horses crawling up padded walls and injuring themselves due to owners administering Benadryl

I gave her half the recommended dose at @3pm and when I got home the swellings had gone down a bit, so gave her another half dose at 6PM. All but the really big one on her belly was completely gone this morning so thank you all for your help.

That's an understatement!!! I'm kind of thinking maybe it was wasp stings. The panels that separate her pasture and the big mare's pasture on the square pipe style ones but the bottom of the "sauare" if you will is open and we've dealt with wasp building nests in there before. Since it was just her and Poopie that had the welts I'm wondering if they were dinking around like they do and disturbed some. I didn't ride until Sunday because she still had the big one on her belly which was in the spot the hind cinch would touch and she had one several in the front cinch area.
