I have not had any rain yet.  I am right in the middle 6-8 inch corridor but so far have only had a few sprinkles, all the big cells have gone around me.

We got some at home yesterday, but got pounded at work, which is about 40 miles from home.
Most of it is supposed to come in later today and tomorrow.

It has been awfully dry, and us in East Texas can handle 4-5 inches of rain over the weekend.

What you're getting now is just the precursor to saturate the ground. Patricia, the strongest hurricane in recorded history, is forecast to sweep across Mexico and rain on you all of next week. It's feeding the storm that's causing flooding there right now. This should end your drought. This storm went from a TS to a Cat-5 in less than 24 hours. Mexico is about to take a nasty hit.

Meanwhile, 10 minutes north of you, Bellville has had about 1 1/2 inches, and my power was out from 4am to 7 am last night.

We did not get a drop of rain until 4:45am and just before we got hit hard the power went out for about an hour!   We have now gotten over 2.5" and it is still coming down steadily. We "were" in extreme drought conditions but I think this should help immensely.
Oops, forgot to say that I'm about an hour east of Dallas.

We probably got 4-5 inches here just last night and its raining again hard today. Definitely going to need an ark. That being said, we have been really dry and need it. I just worry about flash flooding.

I'm in the Bryan/College Station area and didn't mind being woke up to the sound of thunder early am. along with a good downpour. The local hay growers are going to be doing the happy dance to get one more much needed cutting.  The grass was turning brown and we were getting cracks in the ground.
Ditto on the flash flooding.  Very dangerous.

I was just checking up on this before lunch. We're making the final preparations just in case it does slam us for a few days. I hate getting an overload all at once but I will take what we can get.

They are predicting 16+ inches for us near Houston.
But.... They also gave us, at some point, a 100% chance of rain this week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. We didn't get any until Friday morning.
We love watching the ever changing forecast that is never right.

Didn't start raining south of Houston until late yesterday.. not sure how much but its sure wet.. has been wetter this year. Its rained here every month.. and almost every week for the last year.. No drought here.. I'm tired of being wet.. Looks to be clearing out now.. just thankful Patricia didn't skip across and reform in the gulf!
