Many of you have come to know the Paint mare and our struggles over the years. She's been on a bit of a roll her lately and I have been enjoying her more than ever. Last Saturday, she ended up one hole out of the money at a rodeo with a friend of mine who has been running her this season. After running in the slack that morning, we loaded up and hauled tail to make a barrel race, so that I could make a run on the girls before heading to Perry. Our good mare Skips Watch Jo Lady took the lead at number 30. I honestly expected her to win it. I came back on the Paint mare at number 75. I never have been able to get the line right to the first barrel on her in this pen and Saturday was no different. We had a bit of a bobble and had to step deep behind it, but that gritty little mare just dug in and ran harder. She ended up edging her hauling buddy out of the win by .022!
