How do you sell tack items over the internet and make sure the sale is successful? For example I want to sell a PHT blanket, but they are worth a lot of money and I dont want to ship it without having the money. And for whoever the buyer is how can I assure them I am not scamming them? I would love to know everyones safety precautions :) thanks
I sell a lot on FB. I only use paypal, no checks. And when buying a higher priced item, don't send money as a "gift". It saves the seller the paypal fees, but you cannot dispute the charge as easily.
I have had good luck, I've even traded PHT sheets, one size for another. But you have to kinda be judgemental. I never ship without payment first. When trading, we try to go to the post office around the same time-if you're both serious about the trade you'll both understand if you have to wait a few days to ship at the same time. I do NOT trade with kids. I know there are some responsible kids out there, but I think there are a lot on FB that the parents likely aren't aware kiddo is trying to sell something mom bought.
