Anyone have a gunner mare they have crossed on race/barrel bred stallion?
My friend has a very nice Gunner mare who she is considering crossing on a barrel bred stallion. The mare is in foal to shining spark son for a 2016 foal. She is considering breeding crossing her on SOF for 2017.
Would SOF be a good cross or ?? As a typical gunner, the mare is very laid back, easy going has huge stop and just pretty all around. Something hotter with a lot of run would be ideal. Thanks in advance!
I really like the idea of that cross. Would it have the marketability to an ASOF X DTF mare...no way. But it would still be nice, especially in the roping pen. ASOF crosses really nicely on compact shapey reiner types. I've really considered crossing him on my Master Boot Jac Mare...I would name it "Master of all Flings" lol.
Thanks Whiteboy. Honestly hadn’t even thought of resale, but that is a good factor to consider. I will try and dig up a pic of her. She is on the larger side for a reiner around 14.3. Really pretty well built mare.

Edited because I just read your post again and we said the same thing! lol. Shawne Bug Leo is my current fave. Since she's an own daughter with a good bottom side I think you could have resale with any popular stud these days!
