Location: Minnesota | My old mare passed unexpectedly last winter and I haven't decided what I would like to do to remember her yet. I have her tail, her halter and lead rope, the bell boots she was wearing and about 10 of her shoes. What have some of you done to remember you horses? I'd love to see pictures if you have some. |

I really like that idea but I am not a big jewelry person. I think they are really pretty though. |

Location: 31 lengths farms | My little HS rodeo mare's bridle goes everywhere with me, I rub the buckle on the side of it and ask that she watch over me and my horse on our run. My bay mare when I had to have her put down I dipped her feet in white paint and pressed the soles to a T-shirt, one for me and one for my mom who loved her as much as I did. As I leave the yard with the horses I honk 4 times, one to each of them and one to the two dogs that rest next to them also and just ask them to watch over us while we are gone. Little traditions like that I find more comforting than anything. |

| I have a tail hair bracelet made from the mare in my profile picture. It was a graduation present from her owner, she hasn't passed or anything, but I have for the most part stopped riding her. It's a good memento that I really only get out and wear when I'm missing her, which seems to be quite a bit here lately. |

Those are the most wonderful traditions you have; what special friends they must have been to inspire you that way. . . |

| My husband made me a picture frame out of my gelding's shoes. He welded 2 shoes together and the picture goes in between them and then a third shoe is the base so it will stand. |

I was actually thinking about messaging you Sara. You did a drawing for me a few years ago that I sent to a BB. I love your work. I'll be messaging you. |
