| A horse fell with Jake Barnes, breaking his ankle then stepping on his head. He is conscious but does have some brain swelling. Needs prayers and he and his partner are out of the NFR. Sad. |

I certainly hope so. I just hope that Jake is OK. Bad break. |

So tragic. It seems the older I get, the more tradegy I see.
I was also wondering how it worked with the NFR, if a contestant for some reason has to withdraw, if they allow alternates. I thought I had seen somewhere before that alternates were not allowed and that they didn't drop down to the next place in standings. I'd always wonered if for some reason one of the top 15 declined the invite and didn't enter the NFR if they went to 16th place or not. Especially in this case since it's a team event and the heeler is still able to compete. |

Rich has made an outstanding recovery.....bad wreck and he's still bounced back and qualified. He's one of the all time greats.
Many prayers for Jake Barnes, he's one of my heroes. I was really looking forward to watching him and Junior win some serious dough this year. |

Location: Willows, CA | Jake is one of our sponsored riders. He and Jr have been great to work with, and always a class act. He is in my thoughts and prayers, and it shows that this game is not without risk, even for a master horseman. I will miss seeing our logo on his shirt next week, but that means nothing compared to the concern for his health. I know all prayers are appreciated. |

He is a class act both in and out of the arena. |

Location: Roping pen | Allen also hit an elk in SD with his truck the end of July. About total the semi tractor he drives, but they got it put back together. He has had, as has others, a very challenging year. |

Location: Willows, CA | There is a gofundme account under Jake barns relief fund. $25k raised the first day. There is a lot of love for Jake out there. No surgery as yet, but still serious issues, and likely a long recovery. We talked to Junior and it sounds like a terrible wreck on what was going to be the last cow of the practice. |
