How does everyone keep thier shavings out of thier rear tack? Mine is collapsible so there is a small gap that shavings keep going under. Any ideas of what to put in the gap?
That's why I didn't have one put in my new trailer. My previous trailers had the rear tack and I didn't keep really any tack back there because of that reason. And I didn't want to put anything on the bottom to make it stationary because I hauled a lot with it collapsed.If you don't want to haul with it collapsed, then I'm sure you could probably rig some striping or something on the bottom to keep ithe shavings from blowing in.
In a previous trailer I had (Sundowner) with the rear collapsable tack, I had my husband screw a piece of rubber mat along the bottom of the callapsible tack walls. It worked pretty well to keep the shavings out.

Good idea!! Cheap and easy to replace when it gets all nasty. I have a gelding that's pees every trip. Yuck. We have to keep everything off the floor in the tack so it doesn't get gross.

I have seen this done and it worked great. The person used various colors top and bottom of the collapsible partition. I bought the pipe wrap because I'm boring and didn't want the colors :/ but I haven't put it in yet
Draft stop from your local big box home improvement store. Is shaped like an "L" so easy to screw it to the frame work of the tack area walls. Is flexible, but heavy rubber approx. 4" wide. Last trailer I had like that, was over 6 years of use with no problems. I even put it on the vertical between the main rear door and the tack wall. It sealed up the rear tack very well.
