We have three of them, they have been the longest lasting solar chargers we have purchased. We just replaced one that was 12 years old so they seem to last way longer than most.

I have that exact charger, used it for the first time this summer with horses that were and were not trained on electric fence, had no issues with it. Love it and plan on using it again next year! I took mine inside for the winter because I was afraid the batteries would freeze during our cold weather.

A good ground is essential to any electric fence ... and a good ground requires it to be deep enough to be in moist soil ..
here is a simple solution ... build your fence .. set your charger on a tpost ... drill a hole in the flange of the tpost and attach your ground wire with a nut and bolt or self tapping screw .... and the tpost is deep enough to stay grounded even in dry spells ... and everything is on one tpost ..
