| Really frustrated, just listed a horse yesterday for sale, and have received many bogus email and or texts regarding my mare. Some were obvious, but just realized another one that i thought was real interest, is scam sounding now too! just frustrated with all the crooks out there. |

| I've gotten a few obvious scammers too, and it's not just people with horses for sale. My daughter was selling a baby crib and a scammer contacted her about it. The guy said he and his wife were military overseas, but moving back soon, and he'd have his assistant (or someone like that) send her a money order. Well, a little while later he said that the person he had to make out the money order made it out for too much. This is the line they always use, they send a fake money order or cashier's check, write it out for more than the sale amount, then want you to refund them the extra. They've been using this type of scam for so long, I'm surprised that it ever works for them. It's disgusting how many con people there are out there. |

Location: Northwest Florida | I have the same problem, and not just horses but anything I list for sale.
My friend got took by a guy once when selling her saddle. He paypal'd her money for "shipping and insurance" then said she had to pay the shipper by a certain date. The "shipper" was probably just the guy's second paypal account. His money wasn't available yet so she sent her own money to the shipper, then of course the buyer's money never did come available, so she lost about $400. She didn't tell me until after the fact or I would've warned her! |
