Is bunny hopping, or same striding, always indicative of sore stifles or hocks? Or can it be a sign of sore front feet as well?
My question stems from a mare that just had her hocks/stifles done, and bunny hops when turned out on harder ground, but not in the soft arena, on a long line, or under saddle.
She's headed to a good lameness vet as soon as I get home for holiday, but it's just a question that been burning me up!! Thanks!
Is she safety-ing up? I will say that my gelding will Bunnyhop when I try to round pen him and the ground is a little harder than it should be so I just quit doing that and I just put him on the longe line in the arena instead and he doesn't do it....
She might be, she's a smart little thing and not much for risks. I do think she's a little sore on her front feet when I trot her in a small circle on the black top, so that's why I worry if it's causing the bunny hopping.
