I have seen the NFR girls receiving gifts from other contestants like Sherry gave over and unders and had also seen Fallon received cloud easy boots. Is that a tradition? Is that something done by sponsors? Just curious. TiA??

I don't know how long they've done this. I know the last 2 years I have seen gifts posted online.

It's done every year for a while now that I am aware of. In addition to what they get from what was donated by sponsors,  every girl brings something for the other 14. It is up to them what they give.

Yes, it's a tradition.  Each qualifier brings gifts for the other 14 ladies.  This is seperate from what the WPRA and sponsors provide at the luncheon as well.

And some of the circuit finals do that also.

I know the SE Circuit does it, and has for a couple of years.  But I didn't realize the NFR girls did it too.  That could get kind of pricey if your just barely making it, but it is kind of cool!

I was thinking pricey too.  From the gifts I have seen posted, I think they are made or donated by a barrel racers sponsor.  I am not certain about that.  Shorty 2 could probably explain more about it.

To me contestants giving gifts at the NFR to other contestants is like inviting me for dinner and then making me cook.  LOL   No one wants to give a crappy gift so it could end up being a bit pricey if someone doesn't donate it for them.

Some get the gifts from their sponsors, some buy them, some have things made. Brenda's done it all 3 ways. Circuit Finals this year she gave gifts from sponsors Heritage Brand and Team Equine. Several years at the NFR she bought Starbucks cards for the girls. A few of the gifts she's received are fine chocolates, bottles of wine, monogrammed towels, braided leather reins, different supplement products, ice vibe boots, etc.

I know the First Frontier does them too. Many folks give gifts from sponsors, yes.
