My vet checked my mare that got a "curb" in sept and she said 1 more month of confinement and we will start back conditioning (at a walk). I was just wondering everyone else's experience in reconditioning after a tendon injury. I want to make sure I do it as safe and correct as possible.

Well technically you should move the horse to a small pen and eventually full turnout before riding. 4 months stall rest is a long time. I didn't really have a reconditioning plan as far as riding goes. I just rode maybe once or twice a week mostly walking and some trotting, eventually moving up to lots of long trotting. Long trotting is the best was to re-strengthen the soft tissue. I would honestly give her 6 months before you even think about running again or even riding hard. More if you can. Time and patience are key.

We took our mare to an aqua tread, and started slowly there. She did well with it and we haven't had any problems.
