I have a mare out of him. She's quiet, willing, easy to get along with and smart. Shes really a fun ride. She is the horse on my avatar.

I wound up with 3 Bogie babies out of different mares. All 3 are mares and I really like them.

I have one and love her.  So do both of my daughters. So I only got to ride her the 4 & 5 year old years.  My then 10yo daughter took her for the next two years and the oldest daughter 'jump' rode her for high school rodeo and qualified for the state finals both years in poles.  They could have qualified for barrels too if she had ridden her for the whole season.  She is the horse I've posted about this year with the injury so she's been out most of her 8yo year.  I'm just now starting to ride her a little bit so I'm hoping she'll be going again in the Spring.  She's smart.  She's a little lazy in a good way, she works as hard as you do but doesn't mind relaxing either.  She is honest and will go where you tell her, when you tell her.  At the time of her injury, she didn't have to be told much as far as running barrels and poles, she knew her stuff.  She was at that pont that it was fully enjoyable and all she needed was hustling.  Her last big race (300+) was at Hamilton and she won the Youth 1D, and was in the 1D or top of the 2D on all three days.  She's a pleasure to just ride around, she's a gorgeous dark/copper/gold palomino, fantastic confirmation and a good mind.  I would take another one just like her!

Hands down the best horses I've owned.  I stumbled onto my first one by buying an unbroke three year old from a guy going through a divorce.  I only bought him to start on barrels and sell.  Didn't take long and he had a home for life!  He now has several siblings in my barn as well as all my friends barns (after they saw how mine was).  They are talented, athletic, have tons of personality, and are SMART.  Plus Bogie throws a lot of color as a bonus!

AHH MAZING (MACY) daughter of Frenchmans Bogie
x Shakem Down First by First Wrangler .... is continuing
to live up to her name. "Macy" has started her
pro rodeo career with a bang and looking
forward to a very bright future !!

AHH MAZING is a prime example of my breeding
program to load the deck with as many famous
successful NFR and Pro-Rodeo bloodlines along
with plenty of speed to shut the clock off!!

Macy has the entire clan of the Biankus line of
great turners along with Frenchmans Guy, Leige Lord,
Caseys LadyLove, Jet Of Honor and plenty of speed lines
with First Wrangler, FDD, SPECIAL SHAKE, EASY JET
to make it all happen!!

Breeding with a solid deck of successful barrel and
speed bloodlines enhances the setting of the correct
barrelhorse conformation, desired characteristics,
agility and the disposition the whole family can appreciate!!

You will see more and more of this specialized breeding
as time goes on. It takes years and dedicated breeders
with many crossovers to set the characteristics that
identifies them as a specialized breed with AQHA.

Love my Frenchmans Bogie... Got him as a yearling untouched and he's been nothing but a pleasure to work with. Picks up on everything super quick. Would not mind having a few more just like him in the barn!

Can't wait for my baby to run this weekend. Barrelhorseusa is her breeder. Granddaughter of Frenchmans Bogie. There should be three hundred entries. This will be her second barrel race. I guess we will see what those Frenchmans Bogie horses can do in the toughest competition. You will never be any better than the people you run against so you may as well go big.

I own the AHH Mazing mare that is listed above. I LOVE her!!! I recently purchased a 1/2 brother to her that is an 8yo buckskin gelding, Bogies French Lover. He was well broke and started on the barrels as a 4yo. I kept him for 3 months then he sold to a wonderul home in MS. He was just like AHH Mazing....very easy to work with and an honest attitude.

Hello Angela;
I tried to give you full credit with her pro rodeo career
in her album on Barrel Horse USA .. loved your yearly
diary so a summary of it heads the album ..
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.746185642179570.1073741900...

I named her AHH MAZING when she was first born to
a cherry red sorrel mare since red mares are not supposed
to have bucksin foals ... lol ... all I could say was AMAZING ...
and the name stuck ... lol
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/ahh+mazing

Within a couple of days a liver chestnut mare by Stylus
and out of a daughter of DTF.. had a palomino colt that
was the gorgeous color of a cougar and he got stuck with
the name .. Can Chasin Cougar and now stands in Missouri .
.. I had her pegged to have a buckskin ... lol ..
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/can+chasin+cougar

My breeding program loves to live on the edge looking at
what will be running in the next 10-20 years. I have a
super palomino daughter by Can Chasin Cougar out of a
daughter of Streakin Six expecting a 2016 foal out of a
young super race bred colt I own ... here is the pedigree
on the foal to be ... there will be a free packet of hip pocket
Velcro that goes with the baby when it is sold ... lol
http://www.allbreedpedigree.com/barbies+big+gun

Please keep us posted on your adventures with AHH MAZING
... Wishing you much success and a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Thanks to everyone for the replies. I was asking because I now have a "foster child" as I like to call her that is a coming 4yo daughter of him that I will be selling for a friend of mine who is in college and doesn't have time or money to keep her. I put 90 days on the horse at the end of her 2yo year but had not seen her since then, she has been with Add Waddel and I picked her up yesterday. This mare is a twin to Stingray. Not bred the same at all obviously but I bet you couldn't tell them apart at a distance lol.

The two I've had broke did buck when I first sent them off (first week of riding or so) but it was never an issue after I got them back after 30 days.  The only one I've seen that was truly broncy was out of a Hancock mare and wasn't touched until he was a 6 year old.  I'm checking with Gerald on what his stud fee will be in 2016.  I'll post on here when I hear back from him.

Frenchmans Bogie's stud fee for 2016 is $750.  You can visit his facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/frenchmansbogie/  He encourages owners of Bogie babies to post pics and success stories on his fb page!

I have two now and will purchase just about any of them... Ive been lucky enough to see some pretty fantastic Bogies this summer while working under a trainer.

My three year old is fantastic to work with (bogie x dash for perks mare) and I'll be breaking my coming two year old in the late spring (bogie x an on a high/ Ronas Ryon mare).

I have been told they will buck pretty good when breaking but like a previous poster said after a solid few rides they are golden.

I will tell you, the owner of the Stud himself is a stand out owner. That man loves his stud, knows his breeding and crosses well, and can tell you just about every location of where his offspring are if he bred them. I personally met him and spend two days hanging out with him during the BFA.

my older 2 had no buck in them at all & the oldest mare is and always has been very sensitive & a little bit hot. The youngest can rodeo buck but to her credit it has taken me 12 months to put the first 10 rides on her & she has only bucked twice.

I have a grandaughter of his out of a Leo/foundation bred mare. She is coming 3, is gentle as a dog..walks up to you in the pasture. Shes light sorrel (her sire is palomino) with a flaxen mane and tale. I am excited about her. Her sire is one of the gentlest studs I have ever been around. Our experience with them have been that they are super easy to break. All have been out of the same son of Bogie.

Rode the mare for the first time today since Sept and no buck or crow hop so I think it depends a lot on training and the momma side of pedigree?
