| So as odd as it sounds.... my horse is walking like he drunk and is dragging his toes.. he was like this a week ago and then he came out of it after walking for 10 min and was in the barn I was thinking he simply got coldone and everything was tight on him because he got better the more he walked. This morning he was walking like he was drunk again and dragging his toes. I don't know how else to describe it but that he is walking like a drunk. He has been eating and drinking like he normally does and no fever or nasal discharge and he is bright eyed.. any other suggestions BESIDES Epm because that's the only thing I can think of.

Was he tested for EPM? Did he have a head injury? |

| Wobblers and ionophore tainted feed would be at the top of my list.
When Sidekick had wobblers, he'd look normal one day and the next day he wouldn't know where his feet were. Then he'd be fine. He got progressively worse over time though. |

Location: Madill Ok | can you check to see if he has a nose twitch or any facial twitching, abnormal twitching anywhere. That would be signs of west nile, could also be EPM. Does he act like he can see properly, any swelling top of his head and you need to check his tempurature. if they are running a temp, they feel terrible but temp would be in relation to WN or EPM too. |

| Nope it isn't after he has been rode. It is just randomly like one time it was after he was outide all day and then today it was when we went to lead him out of his stall to go outside for the day. |

| Vet suspects Epm but we caught it early. He has started on meds today and tests should be back on monday b or early Tuesday. Plus side is he not any worse and he is in great spirits and only leans on the wall for a short period to shift his weight. |

| So we are waiting for test results to come back should be back tomorrow. He is eating and drinking well as well as peeing and pooping fine. He has been wanting to lay down a lot. We have been getting him up every hour and he gets a good drink and then stands and eats his hay. After about 20-30 min he lays down. How long should I let him lie down. His getting him up every hour too much ? I understand he is tired and most of the time he gets up with a little assistance.

Location: Bandera, TX | Are you doing High doses of Vit E? Also, I've had a few that I was training on and the clients didn't want to pull them from training while they were on the EPM meds. I would give them B12/Phosphorus to help keep the muscle strength up. |

| So update here... he has some good days and today was a bad day :(. I am hoping he is in his crisis period that they say will happen. I know they say it normally happens in week 2 but I am hoping that this is the time because he went from standing to he is still laying down all the time. But we are getting him up every 2 hours all day and night. He has gotten to where we don't have to help him much but tonight we did but like I said today was a bad day.. when he lays down he is sleeping very soundly so at least he is getting some rest. I keep telling myself to take it day by day. |

| Hello everyone, we ended up having to put him down. He essentially was paralyzed on the entire left side of his body within 24 hours. We had a necropsy done and are still awaiting results. The thing we do know for sure now was that he did not have EPM, the spinal test was negative. |
