Hey, can you help me out. I have a horse that I would like to run aluminum all the way around. However, he's not keeping the hinds on. They are spinning on his foot. especially the right hind his second/third turns. Any suggestions?

I run in alum. hinds on almost all my horses. Usually no problems. Had one that would do what you say and I started using the hinds with side clips put on them and didnt have any other issues. I don't rembember the style shoe, I am sure a rim type or queens plate , but most you can get from Thorobred with clips if you want.

I run in aluminum all the way around and have not had a problem. You can find some with clips and that should help. I use kings plates and they are a sturdy shoe for aluminum and hold up really well.

We did the side clips it still occured. What kind of nails are you using gals? For now he's in St. Croix lights-steel. It's not happening in those with clips on them. He likes to sit down on his haunches to prep for his turns.

I had one horse that I couldn't run in alum on the hinds. No matter what. Too soft. Wouldn't hold her. So she got alum in front and lite steel in the back.
