Hey Guys, Thought I would put this out there and see what most of you guys think.
I am trying to decide whether or not to sell my daughters, (who is now 17) 12yr mare. She has been my daughters rock since she stepped off her running pony.
She is a awesome mare but in reality she is a 2D at the big shows and I guess my daughter is pushing towards the 1
d. She currently has bottom of the 1D mare now but is looking for a 2nd 1D horse. We love this mare and I can't imagine her going to the wrong hands because of our selfishness of wanting more. BUT we cant keep them all. This mare deserves a good home. We don't want to see her legs run off or not fed. Suggestions would greatly help.

There really is NO GUARANTEE once the horse leaves. Trust me...even a buy back guarantee isnt written in stone.So with that being said you have to be able to let go and move on and that isnt easy to some of us. Best case scenario is sell to someone you trust and know will take care of her but again not easy.

Totally agree with Jake. You have to decide if you could stand it if something happened to her after she left your pasture. . . .

If it's just the expense of having an additional horse and not the money from the sale itself that is the issue. You can retain some control but not have her on your bills by doing a year to year lease. It can even be on your property so you still have total control of her.
