I live in central Arkansas and I need to buy some hay for a friends
horses. I found some that is Dallas grass, bahaia grass and Bermuda.
Is Dallas grass OK for horses? The guy said he sells a lot of it to horse
people.

Thanks.

It depends on if it was baled too mature or not.  If it has the seed heads, I wouldn't feed it, because of a fungus it has similar to fescue.   My Bermuda hay occasionally has a little Dallas grass in it, and apparently it's not very palatable as hay either.

Thanks Vonda, I have no idea when it was baled. I don't think I would
take the chance.
