 Can You Hear Me Now?
Location: When you hit the middle of nowhere .. Keep driving | Expect everything. I hosted one in the fall and man was I busy. I didn't even ride in it. But I had people back out, and the strangest things happen if though I thought I had planned for everything. I would ask him what he charges first to see if it's do-able in your area and go from there (If its in the price range you think people would pay in your area). If he charges per rider or a flat rate per day, etc. A lot of people that don't like to spend $$ will lead you on but never pay. Lay out everything into your fees and then add a good 20%+ more at least for unexpected costs and to cover your time IMO. I did it for just the costs I figured (fees, plane, food, lodging, renting an arena) and with all the unexpected stuff I ended up using my own money and coming out behind and that wasn't even accounting for my time or the gas I used just stuff that came up.
Ask the arena if you need a speaker system, if they clean it and harrow it for you, stall costs, required testing for horses, etc. I am sure people on here can give you more of a heads up then I can. I learned a lot from my experience and now know what I will do differently next time.
I also took a 25% NON refundable deposit.... if I did it again it would be closer to 40%. |

Location: Under The Big Sky Of Texas | You got arena cost's, insurance make sure the arena has insurance, tractor and fuel, you need a tractor driver, I know that some clinics will have food and drinks for the ones that pay for their spot in the clinics. Lots of times they will have a small jackpot after wards for the students. A place for the instructor to stay if its going to be a 2 day clinic. |

| i am hoping to host a Kristin Weaver Brown clinic in 2016 and this will be my first time coordinating a clinic....just waiting on the confirmed date. I was sent a sheet of what to expect, what will be needed, etc. I'm super excited and hope it's early on in the year. BTW, I contacted her because of all the good comments on here about others attending her clinics.. |
