Anyone have any experiences with that and getting a blood patch? Did you need more then one before it "took"?
I spent 6 days in the hospital with a spontaneous leak. Had a blood patch 2 weeks ago which immediately relieved the horrible headache and pressure but now I feel like I am leaking again. :(
Had it before. Didn't know they could "patch" it so I paid for it for about 4 days straight. Horrible headaches, dizziness, etc.
Would be walking along then have to lay on the ground as my head would hurt so bad. Tried riding. Had to get off and lay on the ground.
Go get it patched. You'll be so glad you did.
Had one from severe herniated discs in my neck..they patched it when they fuzed my neck with blood clot patch..worked as far as I know ..occasionally get headaches but nothing like before ...i would definitely get ahold.of the dr...you may be just experiencing the fluid buildup from the patch working too...if you had a leak for a while..will take some time for fluid to level off and pressure to stabalize..if you know after mine my dr told me no lifting anything over a milk jug heavy..and couldn't lay flat or bend over for 6 weeeks...not sure what yours did..
had the blood patch I thought it helped but on the way home from hospital the killer headache and dizziness returned (I lived over an hour away from hospital) Call the Dr office and was told to lay flat again but to drink coffee or mtn dew something about the caffeine and blood clotting ( really can't remember why! lol) but I did that for a couple of more days and it was fine. I was told that I could go back for another blood patch or lay flat and drink caffeine and it should seal on it's own within a week! Good luck and I hope you get better soon!

My sister had that after a spinal tap, took her to the ER and watched her in agony for 6 hours before I could get anyone to see her. When they did, they got to work fast. They used the blood patch and kept her overnight. The next day she was good as new. Get treatment, camp out in the ER, tell they up front what has happened. Good luck.

Its been 2 weeks since I had the patch done. Dr told me no heavy lifting for 2 weeks and I haven't done any. I was bending over, picking out my horses hooves, when I got the pain in my neck again. A big mistake I realize now to have tried that....
I spoke to my dr yesterday and he is in agreement I am leaking again. I am waiting for a call back for another appt for the patch. He said prob can't get me in til next week. So far the headaches have not returned.....
