So I measured my boy's fetlocks like the sizing guide says and he was 11.25" on front and just under 11.5" on back. This is right on the edge between large (10.5-11.5) and x-large (11.5-12.5). He wears a large in classic equine legacy boots because medium is too small. What size should I get in the Iconoclasts?

Large on fronts and X-large on hinds. That's how one of mine is too.

I agree. Go up a size instead of down.

Go up to xl on both or just hinds like the other bb suggested?
