Anyone ever had or know someone who has had Invisalign? How much does it normally cost, pros/cons? More expensive than braces?

I believe they run about $6,500, and most insurance companies don't cover them. Well mine doesn't at least. I wanted some for the top layer of teeth, but insurance said no lol

I had them, but it was in 2004.  Cost me $4258 at that time.  Very pleased with results.  Once you are done, you do still have to keep wearing your final set of trays, or a similar retainer, at nights to keep your teeth from regressing.

Had them and loved the results. My insurance covered some of it, but my dentist made it so dang easy to pay monthly with no interest that I never felt the sting. It cost me right at 4,5oo.00. that was two year ago. My husband was so impressed he is now doing it.

Most orthodontist will give a free exam and their finace consultant will give you the cost.  Go for it.  All pro for me.

I just got done with them. Very pleased with the results. They are pretty darn close to the same cost as metal braces (alittle more actually), some are going with the actual white braces, these run the same exact cost. Mine were around 5000.00, they had no interest for 2 years if I went through them, so I did that instead of paying cash up front.
My ortho suggested braces to correct my bite, but I wanted the convenience of taking them out (which I hardly ever did, just to eat), I just didn't want to be the 25 year old with braces, not that anyone would care. :)
What I was mainly after was straight/pretty teeth and that's what I got.
Im happy with the results, I now have a permanent retainer on the bottom, just like someone coming off actually metal braces, and a retainer on the top I wear every night, and was told to wear it forever to keep them straight. Which I will after spending the money on them (something kids don't appreciate when parents pay for them:))

I will say they hurt for the first few weeks, but I think any kind of braces will until you mouth gets accustom to them. You change trays every two weeks, and if you not happy with the results your entitled to refinements, which are another set of trays. Mine took longer than expected, but do like the results.

It is more expensive than regular braces and when you change stints can be very uncomfortable. They work very well BUT I am in the dental field and I see a lot of patients pay big money for them and stop wearing them because of the discomfort. So if you do it make sure you are tough enough to stick with it :)

After my son was done with his metal braces they gave him Invisalign to wear at night permanently! Our insurance covered it so we preferred it to metal and plastic retainer!
