| If you're there in the winter, with your barrel or rope horses, you can compete every day of the week large jackpots and small. The ground is always phenomenal, they sure know their barrel dirt there, and mostly standard patterns. -sigh- wickenburg and Phoenix are pretty much my paradise this time of year. |

Location: Phoenix | You can trailer out to Brown's Ranch and trail ride in the desert--so pretty. There's also a preserve right across Pima road and Dynamite.
Hike Camelback, Pinnacle Peak, Tom's Thumb.
Top Golf is cool.
There's a timed event rodeo/barrel race in Queen Creek every Weds night.
West Valley and Buckeye is more your destination for barrel races. |

There's bat caves in Tucson and some old ruins.
There's some haunted spots in Jerome and downtown Phoenix.
In Prescott there is whiskey row (it's basically downtown Prescott where there is like 10 bars in one spot), on Whiskey Row is this super awesome food place... I can't remember the name it's right by Matts Bar and they serve fair food. Bacon wrapped corn dogs, turkey legs... deliciousness <3
Camp Verde is gorgeous! The Verde River is just... breath taking if you can find the salt dunes that go into the river and there's some indian ruin caves that back up to it!
Lol. Arizona is full of wonders.
If you are going to Phoenix - I recommend Postino (Wine and cheese place that has the best bruschetta I've ever had in my life)
and Taco Guild - One word - prickly pear sorbet! OMG! I can't even begin to describe how amazing it is... (btw that was 3 words, one item)
Their tacos are second to none! I always get the cherry steak and duck one. I now live in CA, but anytime I go back to AZ I go to these places.
They are both in downtown Phoenix where I used to live. Taco Guild is an old catholic church they turned into a gastro pub like place, but they kept the stained glass and the pews. It's absolutely breath taking. They kept as much of the original charm as possible. :)

Location: Arizona | I'm jealous! Lol I lived in Queen Creek for 14 years, and am really missing it now that we are in the depths of winter here in Montana. There is always something going on at Horseshoe Park in QC on the weekends, and there is arena & roundpen access to the public during daylight hours. San TAN Mountain Regional Park is lovely to trail ride in, very horse friendly and beautiful scenery. Depending on the trails you choose you can be out there 30 min or all day, and they give you trail maps at the trailhead. Schnepf Farms & The Olive Mill sell locally grown produce & olive oils, they are right across the street from each other. The Pork Shop is an amazing little local butcher shop, it has to die for bacons & sausages & brats & smoked meats in every flavor imaginable. Their pepper & teriyaki sticks are addicting travel food. There are rodeos, ropings, and barrel races all over southern AZ this time of year. I also echo the suggestions to visit Sedona, Jerome, Prescott, & Camp Verde. The Grand Canyon is nice, but cold & windy this time of year. Turf Paradise is running during the winter as well. Parada del Sol, Lost Dutchman Days, & La Fiesta de los Vaqueros (Tucson Rodeo) are all fun rodeos in Feb. There is a performance horse sale at Dunn's Arena in Feb, & another in Wickenburg in March. |

Location: Arizona | I forgot to add in Tombstone and Old Tucson as fun day trips to stroll through the old movie sets. There's Apache Land just outside of Apache Junction too, which is where The Rifleman was filmed. The Buffalo Chip in Cave Creek & San Tan Flat in Queen Creek are fun bars, as is Whiskey Row in Prescott. Whiskey Row is livelier during the Fourth of July rodeo, but the Palace bar is nice for lunch. It's also the site of the bar scene in Junior Bonner. |

| I second Tombstone. Especially this time of the year. Snow lines the boardwalk and the people still dress in period clothes. I LOVE Big Nosed Kate's Saloon and The Bird Cage Theater is scarey as hell. I was in the ALONE last year and well, I don't think I was really alone, if you get my drift.
Old Tucson is a must see....
I love it here. Would not live anywhere else. |

| I spend the winters in Arizona and have a steady stream of visitors while I'm there so I've done all the touristy stuff multiple times every winter lol but my favorites are cave creek, tombstone and I love old town Scottsdale it's so much fun down there. |

Location: Arizona | January is always unpredictable here in AZ. We have had 80 degree temps, freezing temps, and just plain "it's cold out" temps. This year it's been raining and quite cold. Hopefully we will see the sunshine soon. There's always tons of stuff to do with your horse. Every arena seems to have something going on. You can go to most parks and ride their trails as well. Lots of sight seeing too. I would recommend Tombstone and Bisbee on the sighting seeing list, great places to visit.  |
