Now that my horses' awful abscess finally blew he's got quite a hole in his sole and is going to lose a very large part of it. I've been keeping him wrapped to prevent anything getting in there but with the hard frozen ground the duct tape doesn't hold up. He's going to need a boot for quite some time so looking to get something that's going to hold up and not rub. What do you use and like? Right now I'm trying a cavallo boot with the wrap to help prevent rubbing.

I had really good luck with the easy boot clouds. My mare wore them for about a month in a large turn out. I checked them daily but didn't take them off more than once a week. No rubbing and made a huge difference in her getting around while she was healing from an abscess.
