Does anyone here take a natural herb or supplement for an under active thyroid? If so what works best? Thanks!

My gelding tends to stay a little chunky looking even when he is fit and last spring he had these fat deposits on his tail head and either side of his shoulder yet was at a good weight for his size and frame, even according to the vet. Had a hair analysis done and it came back thyroid, put him on Equine Natural Care's thyroid herb. He had a ton more energy, not hot energy but just didnt' have to do the kick kick kick thing to keep him long trotting. Those fat deposits also disappeared after about month 2, not sure if from the added energy when I rode or from the herb itself.

Are you asking for human or horse?

Personally for humans I would take what the dr perscribes. Underactive thyroid is not something to mess with . I would go with what is proven to work.
