If you are contacted by a John Stone - run away! This gentleman, falsely using the John Stone name, is running a huge fraud ring right now and targeting Barrel Horse World horse sellers. I would gladly provide more detail, but the basic you need to know if the checks are legitimate, but from someone else's account!
I have spoke with the bank issuing the checks and confirmed they have already had 7 cases similar to this. I didn't fall into his trap thank God and neither should you!

Thanks for the heads up. With this electronic age people are printing their own checks with their names, but on the bottom is someone else's routing and account number. Happened to us a few years ago.
