Just got the message a little bit ago our local college is on lockdown due to someone threatening to shoot up the school with a machine gun. My boyfriend is there as well as some other friends. They are still investigating but reports have come out that there is no active shooter on campus at this time. Thoughts and prayers that an empty threat was all this was. It's very scary when something like this happens at the school you went to and you have loved ones in the building.

That's crazy! I just don't understand people..it's pure evil. As terrible as it sounds I think shooters who survive should be faced by a firing squad of some sort with some type of non lethal (at first) force that would torture them slowly. Prayers

I agree! Especially when someone I love is involved. If that shooter hurt/killed him I personally do everything I could to make sure they died a slow, painful death.

I teach High School and we go into lock down periodically as well. Last year a student actually tried to blow up the boys locker room using a dry ice chemical bomb. We were on lock down 6 hours. Unfortunately I am extremely NUMB to all of it. What will be will be and I cannot see where our current government can control or prevent it.

I made it through all of school without any bomb/shooter threats. Although I did have one car bomb threat just outside my work a few months ago. My truck was all over the news cause it was directly in front of where the bomb squad vehicle was parked. I wasn't nervous then. We closed down the clinic and had rubber band wars. But I think the fact the love of my life is in there and there's NOTHING I can do makes my anxiety way worse.

Times sure have changed. I made it through high school with nothing less than a dozen pickup trucks in the parking lot having rifles hanging in the back window every day and never a problem or complaint.

I graduated in 75 and I bet most of the pickups in the high school parking lot had shotguns in them. Never had an issue. You know, I tell all the gun haters that if everyone carried a gun that no robber would be stupid enough to rob a McDonald's with everyone sitting behind him with a gun pointed at him.
