Has anyone experienced this? I have a horse that I have used them on a handful of times in arenas where I know what he should clock and he doesn't fire as hard or clock as well. Does it maybe scare him that he can breathe better???

Maybe there is something else going on.

My horse seems to run harder on nasal strips.

My mare does the same thing. Except you can see she visibly HATES them. She fights me putting them on and tries to take them off the entire time they're on. She definitely clocks better without them, I think because she's not so annoyed with whats on her face.

I tried them on one of my mares that I knew could possibly have an issue with it. I couldn't even get her to warm up decent. She was too focused on trying to get that thing off

Yeah, this guy doesn't seem to mind it and he usually doesn't fuss about them. Vets haven't turned up anything else being wrong. I was just curious if others had the same experience initially or maybe if I just shouldn't use them on him.
