Location: west of East Texas | Yippity Dippity Zoo Da Day!!!!!! I entered Geraldine last night in Caldwell!!!!! I don't know who was strutting prouder, me or her! Eleven months and one day on the injured reserve list, she went through: good - injured - healing - crippled - little to no hope, consider euthanization - heartbreaking pain - may survive as yard art - turn her out and hope for moderate lameness - saddle up and see what happens - go run and see what happens. So that's what I did last night. I never pushed her, I was just along for the ride and she felt awesome through all three barrels. She was less than 2 seconds off. And then she tried to buck on the way home! She was fun and funny last night to see her antics, she was so amped up and kept lunging at the gate to go in while we were waiting. She came out and with her head up and nickered to Rocky like "see, that's how you do it smooth..." I am doing the happy dance today because she not showing any soreness from her run. Yea!!!!!!

Location: west of East Texas | I did NOT name her! And that name is actually part of her registered name... Geraldine Jewel. She is by Frenchmans Bogie who is owned by Gerald Roberts. We started calling her that kind of tongue-in-cheek because she is actually a gorgeous golden palomino and looks like Barbie's horse. |

Location: west of East Texas | Does this look like a Geraldine???? Yes, it does get plenty laughs. I remember the Flip Wilson show too!
Don't worry K, she and I weren't giving up easy. The lowest part was when we thought the pain was too much for her and that was the only way I would have put her down. She was so bad for so long we had our doubts. I was prepared to keep her as yard art as long as she would be comfortable long-term. It seems once a horse comes here, it stays forever and this one has definitely earned it.

No.... It was my understanding that Geraldine only had two legs... and no tail.... and a smaller butt.... and.... and............... was darker in color...... |
