I'm interested in buying one but I don't know much about them. Anyone have one? What's the pros and cons to them? A friend bought one online and didn't relize it had a 5" cantle so she's selling it and I'm needing a new one but I can't afford a brand new saddle so I though about this one.

They're great saddles. Well made and balanced. My daughter rides one and doesn't like anything else she's tried.

Where is rachellyn80???  She has one that is gaw-jous!!!  I had a couple about 10 years ago and liked them.  Sold them when I sold the horse I was riding them in and for some reason didn't buy them back.  Very nice and balanced, fit a horse nice, and quality.  They used to all look alike and not be very fancy, but these i'm seeing them build now are beautiful!

Wish I had pics of it but it's fully tooled except the jockeys and seat are rough out. Very pretty saddle.

How do they fit in general? It will be for my every day saddle so I'll use it on different horses.

We have a regular as well.  If I was going to ride one myself, I had rather have a wide because it's more versatile.  The regular tree fits an average back, it works on most of what I've put it on.  They do use other trees too tho.  They've made some on a TG tree, rachellyn80's is on a cutting tree, and I don't know what else.

Oh I wasn't aware of that. I need to double check then. I just assumed it was a regular and wide. I know a TG won't fit anything I have. I had a older Caldwell with a TG tree and hated it.

I prefer the wide fit in both barrel and roping Allen Ranches.. The only saddle I have found that compares is Yoachum's Custom .. That being said my big gelding is fine in his rope saddle but it is easier for me to ride him in a treeless for barrels as he is downhill.. It is very hard to find used AR.. People keep them for life.

The saddle should have a W on the back of the cantle if it's a wide tree.

They are really nice saddles.  They can fit your horse exactly.  He has some used one in his shop for sale, as well as new ones or  he can custom make you one.  Customer service is OUTSTANDING and so is the quality of the saddle.

I have had mine for 12 years and it has been an awesome saddle. I have ridden all my horses with it and it fit them all. I have a little cutting horse an OTT gelding and a FG gelding and it fits them all. Mine is on the original Allen ranch tree. Stanley is awesome. I am looking for a used one...everyone rides in a 14 inch apparently! I need a 15 inch. They are worth the money for sure! Would love to have a new one but......I will have to wait!

I just got my first new Allen Ranch and love it! I have rode them for 6 or 7 years now. I have one on a new tree. It's similar to a Pozzi but has lower swells and the cantle is tilted back. I love the way his saddles ride. Very well made and super super comfortable. He is excellent to work with and his saddles really last! In my opinion the only con to the Allen Ranch saddles is the price tag.

Absolutely love mine!

The pocket in it is just right.  I've never felt so secure in a barrel saddle.  My legs are so long that when I let the stirrups out in a regular barrel saddle they end up at the wrong angle and feel awkward.  Stanley and I designed the modified cutter to work around the issues that I've always had with saddles.  I love my ranch cutters to work horses in and this just seemed like the natural choice.  I'm thrilled that they're working so well for so many others now too!

We've had 5. Only sold one because it was a youth saddle of mine. One of the ones we have was made in '96 and I just replaced the strip leathers just because I had the funds. They could have gone a few more years. They fit great. Really helps that they are close to me so when we are getting one made we can take a horse over and get the right tree.

The one i ordered was based off of your picture minus the dots, and carving on the fenders and all basket weave. Do you like the hard seat i have always had padded. I was thinking i could feel my horse better, how long did it take you to get yours after the tree came in . I ordered this for a huge cow bred horse and don't have any saddle to fit him mine are all semi quarterhorse bars

It didn't take long at all, but that was last year.  I'm not sure how busy he is right now.  I love the hard seat and probably won't have anything else now.  It definitely lets me feel my horses better.  I love that I can sit deep and hug up to the swells a little and ride them through a turn two handed if I'm needing to tune on them a little.
