My hubby and I have been together 7.5 years and we decided in the beginning we were not doing Valentines day, birthday or Christmas gifts exchange between the two of us, that we would do spontanoius gifts through-out the year.  My hubby does still get me star gazer lillies about once a year, usually on my b-day  and I bought him a handgun for his bday once.

If we were diong gifts, I know he loves the Apple Pie Flavored Caramel Apple from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory and since they are about $9 an apple, 2-3 of them makes a good gift.   He also always likes lounging/pj pants and he also likes fleece zip-ups with sports team logos or he likes Carhartt hoodies and zip-ups.

I've never had anyone to buy a Valentines for until this year. He told me last week not to get him anything. Should I really not or is he just saying that and secretly hoping I will? If I do I don't know what to get him. He's not a sweets type person so candy wouldn't work. I looked at getting him some new carhartt pants but he's a rather large size guy both vertically and around and our selection around here isn't that great and most places doesn't carry his size in stock except maybe around Christmas when they have almost every size. He has a Dodge Charger he drives around town to save on diesel. I mentioned having it detailed for him. He went and had it done last week. So I don't know what else to do. He's not a horse person so nothing like that. Anyone have anymore suggestions?

I am going to attempt to make..... a heart-shaped red velvet skor poke cake.

I have never baked in my life, so we shall see how this turns out. We are broke too (oilfield) therefore DIY it is.

We don't really get to celebrate Valentine's Day since our daughters birthday is the 15th. We will probably just do a nice dinner and watch a movie on our couch. Ain't nothin wrong with that. Spending time with my best friend is more than enough....

We don't do gifts, really. But we got ourselves an English Mastiff pup flying in on the 13th. So it's kinda like a valentine gift. Lol.

Here is the top 3 list from my radio station this morning.
1.  Send him a dozen wings to his job for lunch.
2.  Hire a mobile unit to detail his vehicle.
3.  Send a large pizza to his job for lunch.

I usually hand make a card every year and then will have a little gift on the side. Last year I got him a heart shaped pizza (his favorite kind) and then a few really nice craft beers. I've done chocolate cover strawberries, make cookies, done the edible arrangements. I usually will send the edible arrangement to his work. But what stays the same each year is a hand made card.

His favorite beer and I usually bake him some treats.

I gave up trying to act like its christmas and needing to get him a gift. Makes it too stressful and not even fun. As long as I get a card I'll be happy ;) We usually go out to supper someplace nicer than we would usually go.

I got my man a box of alcohol infused jerkey from mancrates and some Deadpool socks...We're going to eat a heart shaped pizza and watch movies at his place on V-day.

Geeezzz....this sounds like something we would do!

I'm thinking that since we're poor (feeding all the roping steers) horses and vet bills.... I'm going to grill steaks & bake a chocolate cake.

We don't do much for V-Day, I'd rather get flowers for no reason.

My husband and I used to sing Moulin Rouge songs to each other when we were first dating and Los Angeles is showing Moulin Rouge with tons of acts doing things before the movie.

I believe they are also serving champagne and we are supposed to dress formally.

https://www.facebook.com/events/1943870335839174/

It was going to be a surprise, but I had to make sure that he didn't work and he wouldn't tell me if he did or didn't so I was like FINE I want to do this for V-day....

He was super excited, but kinda felt bad it wasn't a surprise anymore. :P

I still bought tickets. I like dressing up!

Because that is what he asked for...

But I wasnt sure how to present a "gym membership" so I also got him some deodorant to go along with it.

I'm making a breakfast casserole that my mom always use to make on special occasions like Christmas since he has to be up and off to work early. Before he had to go into work (facility manager at a winery, they have a batch ready to add stuff too, who am I to complain about making wine?!) we were going to go look at new furniture and go ring shopping but that's on hold.

So we're moving some of my furniture down to his place so my house looks less cluttered to show and sell and then going over to a friends to crawl around his horse trailer so I can decide what I want in the one I'm hopefully ordering soon

I'll probably pick him up a 6 pack of Shiner on the way to his place tomorrow :)
