Scar tissue build up? I would be asking the vet what the fibres of the tendon look like, are they organized or disorganized?

The tissues don't return often times to their regular strength. I've had my share of horses with DSDL and at best they return to the ranch as ranch horses. Often times for light ranch work (I would never rope a bull out of a tank and expect a horse with DSDL to hold up.) I've treated horses via Dr Green and other by Shock wave and PEMT. The accuscope has helped as well. I had a gelding a few years ago that could have made the trip to the NFR had it not been for his suspensories.(High Rear).
