Chronic inflammation of the suspensory.

I would be looking to see why there is inflammation, an acute tear?

A chronic tear?

Scar tissue build up?

I would be asking the vet what the fibres of the tendon look like, are they organized or disorganized?

The damaged tissues heal with cartilage instead of collagen. The tissues don't return often times to their regular strength.

I've had my share of horses with DSDL and at best they return to the ranch as ranch horses. Often times for light ranch work (I would never rope a bull out of a tank and expect a horse with DSDL to hold up.

I've treated horses via Dr Green and other by Shock wave and PEMT. The accuscope has helped as well. I had a gelding a few years ago that could have made the trip to the NFR had it not been for his suspensories.(High Rear).

I have firsthand experience with it as my little Paint mare was diagnosed with this back in 2013 due to her hoof angles being wrong. What would you like to know? I can try and answer any questions you might have.

This is not degenerative. It was caused by bad shoeing. Not lame. There was thickened suspensory ligaments on ultrasound.
