Chandler's Mom - 2016-02-14 7:14 PM In layman's terms what is this?
The damaged tissues heal with cartilage instead of collagen. The tissues don't return often times to their regular strength.
I've had my share of horses with DSDL and at best they return to the ranch as ranch horses. Often times for light ranch work (I would never rope a bull out of a tank and expect a horse with DSDL to hold up.)
I've treated horses via Dr Green and other by Shock wave and PEMT. The accuscope has helped as well. I had a gelding a few years ago that could have made the trip to the NFR had it not been for his suspensories.(High Rear).
I have firsthand experience with it as my little Paint mare was diagnosed with this back in 2013 due to her hoof angles being wrong. What would you like to know? I can try and answer any questions you might have.
