Location: Oklahoma | Looking around at buckles for my series this summer. I used Maynard last year and they were nice, just want to see what else is out there in my price range. We paid around $110 each buckle, and had the sponsor's brand put on them for that price also (that added $10). Anyone ever win a Corriente buckle? |

| We've used or I have won; Corriente, Molly's Custom Silver, Shea Michelle Buckle Designs, showtime awards, and A Cut Above. My favorites to win were A Cut Above and Shea Michelle, but as a producer the cheaper ones to buy are Corriente, Molly's, and Showtime. The easiest to work with and the fastest was Corriente. Molly's can't tell you much about when you'll get the buckle once it hits production. Some we got in 4wks and some took 8-10. All three of them were 100 and below. Shea Michelle was fast, easy, quick responses, and beautiful but the prices on them are 175+. Was worth it in my opinion and having won one prior to ordering from them, I was very pleased as a contestant. |

Location: Arkansas | I've been fortunate enough to win a variety of buckels, but may favorite is my Red Bluff. I won it in 2002 and that is still the buckle I wear 90% of the time. |

Maynard, Molly's Custom Silver, Yellowhair, Corriente all have affordable options and good quality. I'm sure there are lots more! |

| I have a Dale Chavez, Gist, and Kathy's Show equipment. I wear all of mine all the time. The DC hasn't held up as well as I would have thought and I was really surprised that the Kathy's Show Equipment buckle is as nice and has held up as well as it has. All of them are beautiful, and I love them, though. |

| I have ordered buckles from Corriente and they didn't use the correct colors for the buckles I ordered (their excuse- they didn't have the correct metal color in stock), and one buckle was crooked. They re-did the crooked one but then put the wrong color stones so it didn't match the others. Honestly it shouldn't have even been sent to me in the first place since it was flawed. I was dissatisfied with the service aspect. I've spoken with others and they have not had good experience with Corriente - they make errors in orders. They are a nice looking buckle but not as heavy as Maynard. I've won a Corriente and Maynard and like the weight and quality of the Maynard better. I've won Montana Silversmith and Gist as well. Gist also makes a nice buckle. For the price, Maynard is a good choice. |

| We just used Corriente buckles for our NBHA awards and were very pleased. The turn around was quick (like 3 weeks or so for 8). Even had to order an extra one a week prior to our banquet and they got it made and here by the day prior. They looked really great.
We've done Gist also but they just seem so cookie cutter and plain. |

| I have used Gist in the past and they have always been super to work with. I won a Vaquero buckle several years back and wear it about 5 days a week, it has held up well. |

Location: Oklahoma | Thank you everyone!!! I will be looking at all of these. I have some GIST but don't care for them all that much, great service but the lettering seems to wear off, and for the price/quality I did think the Maynard ones were better. And good to know on the corriente! |

My GIST from high school (2000) is really nice and has held up well. The one my husband won in 2010 is crap. |

| A Cut Above Buckles. They are great to work with! I have friends that wear their buckles everyday and they hold up to the pressure. Personally, if I win a buckle I want to win something that I am proud to wear. I have won a Maynard and I dont think the quality is that great - actually its the ugliest buckle I have, so it just sits in my closet. IMO...Spend the extra cash and purchase something people want to wear. |

We did the Knifes and Buckles from A Cut Above for our year end awards and they were beautiful! Everybody was pleased with them.

| I have won pretty much every buckle listed on these two pages, my favorites by far are A Cut Above, Red Bluff, Yellow Hair, Bob Berg and as of Sunday, Dale Chavez. Bob Berg does very nice buckles for $125 a piece. A Cut Above are absolutely gorgeous but can get quite spendy for the better quality.
This weekend I took my Dale Chavez out of my truck with the intentions to take it in to the house. My husband was working a colt in the round pen and needed something out of the trailer. I set my buckle on the bed of the truck and got what hubby needed, talked with him for several minutes then headed to town. I totally forgot my buckle was on the bed rail and drove off with it. About 3 miles down the road I caught it in my mirror go flying off the bed rail and bounce down the road at 70 miles an hour and land detail down. I was absolutely heartbroken. It is the first buckle I had won in years. I picked it up off the highway and was surprised to see that only a few of the berries on the edge were marred (almost unnoticeable) and two stones had broke. I have not called the company to see what it will cost to get the stones replaced but I was extremely impressed with how it held up!

Location: Oklahoma | Thanks so much! Will be looking into the rest of these.
Has anyone ever gotten buckles from Monsoon/Frontier? I am guessing they bought out Frontier buckles. They look nice and do communicate quickly with me so far.
I am trying to come up with a logo for my series for the buckles, and other awards. It is called "Money Talks" $eries. Main prizes are cash, and several other awards. |
