| I normally get the good stuff from the whole foods store that looks like it was scraped right out of the aloe plant and when I did that I found a herbalist that recommended 2oz 2x daily. I recently bought the stuff from Walmart that is VERY watery but only 6 bucks a gallon. I have been giving a little over half cup 2x daily but I'm questioning the quality. |

| I've always done one cup a day (from the Walmart gallon jugs that are like 6 bucks) and it seems to help! |

I've heard it aids in ulcers so I'm going to give it a shot. At only $6/gal, it can't hurt to try. |

Location: Got Lobsta? | I give 1 cup per feeding, stop using when season ended. Will start up again in spring. I'm ulcer paranoid so $6 a gallon is worth it for me! |

| Aloe Vera helps to soothe the stomach, there is no scientific evidence proving or disproving that it actually does anything.
I use papaya puréed, it is more costly but has the scientific evidence (research published in peer reviewed journals in the 80's) showing it actually cures stomach ulcers in horses. The research is on pub med, my vet showed me the articles a few years ago.
As for the green clay, no scientific evidence to prove or disprove, I do know there are anecdotal stories saying green clay heals hind gut ulcers. I know one girl who started using it, and within 2 weeks her horse looked like a different horse, filled out top line, shiny coat.
Redmond sells a clay that they claim AIDS in ulcer healing, i have one mare who is ulcer prone, I give this to her while I am riding her |

Location: The Great Northwest | If Aloe Vera sooths the stomach, you should administer it about hourly to help neutralize the acid flow. I would think to do any good to prevent ulcers! |

| You have to cure the Ulcers before any of this works. I have tried it. |

| We feed Aloe Vera Juice, Apple Cider Vinegar and Corn Oil to our horses daily. I ordered the 1 ounce large plastic snow cone juice pumps from Amazon. Each horse gets a 1 oz pump of each daily. So easy. |

Awesome! Thanks... Do you feed it once or twice a day? I only grain once a day because my horses only get a small grain meal. |

That's why she's on an omeprazole (sp?) compound. I am finding that she doesn't LIKE the Aloe Vera though - I tasted it and it doesn't really have a taste but she sure isn't cleaning up her feed when I add it. |
